Realme 5i Coming to the Philippines on January 29

Realme has a brand new smartphone under the popular Realme 5 series that has been recently launched in other Southeast Asian markets including India, the Realme 5i. And this will also be coming to the Philippine shore very soon, January 29 to be exact. So what's up with this new budget-friendly yet powerful Android smartphone? See below.

The Realme 5i is a slightly watered down version of the standard Realme 5 smartphone but sporting new looks and feel on its back and definitely be sporting asking price that is slightly more affordable than its brother. So what's the only difference? It's the front facing camera, it is now at 8MP configuration from the 5's 13MP. Also, there are no more glossy finishes on its back, rather it is now textured and from diamond cut design it now sports sun rays-like pattern. This new design is what Realme calls "Sunrise Design" inspired by the power and hope that the first rays of the sun bring us. The said design will be available in two new colors - Aqua Blue and Forrest Green.

"We at Realme Philippines are very excited to start the year with a bang through the launch of the Realme 5i. We heard the Filipinos' demand for a smartphone that does not compromise real value for its price. Our commitment to upgrade the smartphone user experience stays stronger than ever. This is just the first  of many surprises in store for Realme fans this year," shares Realme Philippines Marketing Director Austine Huang.

Being a member of the Realme 5 series of devices means that the 5i sports quad-camera set up on its back panel together with the physical fingerprint scanner and of course the massive and long-lasting 5000mAh battery pack right out of the box. As for the display and resolution, we are still looking at the same 6.5-inch panel protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 with 1600 x 720 resolution.

In terms of RAM and storage, there are two variants, 3GB+32GB and 4GB+64GB. It is not known yet which of those or if both will be made available locally. Mobile OS-wise, it is powered by the current Android 9 Pie with ColorOS 6.1 on top. Hopefully it will also be upgraded to the Android 10 with Realme UI soon as some Realme devices are currently being updated to.

The Realme 5i, packed with midrange features, will cater to every Filipino user looking for an affordable smartphone that delivers over and beyond its cost, be it in gaming, photography or overall device performance.
