Huawei and Globe Officially Launch the Mate 30 Pro 5G in the Philippines

Globe and Huawei are pioneering the launch of 5G network and its availability through a joint event that the two tech giants held last night at the Globe Amphitheater in BGC. Marking this milestone is the official launch of the first 5G smartphone in the Philippines - the Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G. At the event, Huawei talked about the innovations this flagship device brings forth most especially in its camera department while Globe did a live demo of how fast its 5G network can go using the Mate 30 Pro 5G (spoiler: it hit 873mbps for download and 47.9mbps upload speeds) as well as discussed a little bit about their plan for the 5G rollout in the country beginning this year.

The Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G is nearly similar to the standard Mate 30 Pro in the market except that it is equipped with the company's very own Kirin 990 5G processor making it future-ready for the arrival of the next-generation 5G network connectivity in the Philippines. It packs a massive and gorgeous 6.53-inch Full HD OLED display with 3D curved glass. On the inside are 8GB of RAM and 256GB UFS native storage and it can hold additional 256GB storage space but via NM SD carD (not the usual microSD card).

One of the technological advancements of the Mate 30 Pro, in addition to being capable of 5G connectivity and more, is focused on its cameras that are co-engineered with Leica just like the previous Mate series of smartphones from Huawei. On the back it has four cameras where the charge is being lead by a 40MP Cine Camera with f1.8 aperture while the secondary 40MP SuperSensing lens is equipped with f1.6 aperture. The third rear camera is pegged at 8MP telephone lens and is armed with OIS, 3X optical zoom, 5X hybrid zoom and 30X digital zoom with the fourth camera being a 3D depth sensing Leica lens. On the front are dual setup with 32MP main selfie camera partnered with a 3D Depth camera.

The Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G's cameras perform really well in the camera benchmark tests that DxOMark hailed it as the highest-rated smartphone camera during their review of its lenses and camera performance.
