The flagship from OPPO is here

While OPPO has just officially launched its new midrange smartphone, the Reno3 Pro, the company also just recently launched its flagship phone in Barcelona, Spain. The phone I am talking about is called the Find X2 Pro that promises an all-around powerful camera experience, battery life, and one of the most advanced screens in the industry.

The company said the Find X2 Pro is equipped with OPPO-customized 120Hz Quad HD+ Ultra Vision Screen. OPPO added that it offers more than one billion variations of color display capabilities, bringing a visual revolution in resolution, color, refresh rate, and brightness. Plus, there is no pop-up selfie camera or sliding mechanism anymore on the device. Instead, the Chinese smartphone maker opted for a punch-hole cutout on the upper left corner of the display for the front camera.

For its display, the device has 6.7-inch screen with Quad HD resolution (3168x1440). Its side screens curve over the edges and it's got HDR10+ support on top of the whopping 120Hz display refresh rate. Protecting the panel is a Corning Gorilla Glass 6 layering.

Being an AMOLED equipped smartphone, the phone's fingerprint reader is integrated in the display panel. Based on early hands-on reviews, the fingerprint sensor reads prints and unlocks the phone pretty fast.

Triple rear cameras, two of which are 48MP sensors

OPPO decided to place three camera sensors on the Find X2 Pro's back panel. However, two of the trio are 48MP sensors (wide-angle and ultrawide-angle) which use Sony IMX689, the largest sensor size among all 48MP smartphones out there in the wild. The third 13MP shooter offers periscope telephoto lens. And yes, the pack supports 10x hybrid zoom and up to 60x digital zoom functionality.

Additionally, OPPO said that the Find X2 Pro is the first device to support "All Pixel Omni-directional PDAF" with capability of achieving 100% pixel focusing. Its Ultra Night Mode can cover all focal lenghts with a maximum zoom of 60x and a maximum of 30x smooth zooming on video mode. Everything sounds so good on paper for this device, hopefully it delivers everything or even surpass them in the real world performance. Though knowing OPPO, most especially in the smartphone camera and mobile photography scenes, it's definitely going to be one of the best devices in 2020.

As for video recording, users can record up to 4K with 60fps. Plus, it also supports Live HDR video recording. There is also the Ultra Steady Video Pro keeping all of video shots shake-free. The Find X2 Pro was created by OPPO with content creators in mind, obviously. That being said, the phone is not complete without integrating a dedicated video editing app right out of the box, and that's why it comes with the app called Soloop. It will offer users fun recording, easy editing, and quick sharing features.

For selfie needs and video conferences, there is a 32MP camera on the front panel situated right in the punch-hole cutout.

Powerful processor, huge storage, and new OS

Powering the OPPO Find X2 Pro is the latest, 5G-ready, and flagship Snapdragon 865 processor with Adreno 650 GPU on its side. In terms of RAM and internal storage, this will only be released in one model with 12GB RAM and 512GB internal storage. Performance wise, this should be the fastest and the best.

OPPO is debuting this smartphone with its latest ColorOS 7.1 based on the current Android 10 platform. Based on the looks so far, it is now more attractive and has improved a lot compared to the previous versions of ColorOS UI. In addition to the icon customization, the ColorOS 7.1 specially adapted Dark Mode to the top 200 popular third party apps.

Battery and the fastest charger

In the power department, the smartphone is packed with not-so-huge 4260mAh battery. For charging the phone, OPPO  included the fastest 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 FlashCharge. The company claims that it can fully charge the device in just 38 minutes from zero percent battery life. Unfortunately, no wireless charging support here.
