Realme 5i upgraded

The Realme 5i that was launched a couple of months ago also just got upgraded through the recently-announced Realme 6i in Myanmar. The brand new device now sports 48MP quad rear camera, from 12MP, while the selfie cam now at 16MP, from 8MP on the 5i. Also, the 6i now boasts USB Type-C port.

The Realme 6i is the first smartphone in the world to rock the MediaTek Helio G80 processor. It will be released in two configurations. The 3GB + 32GB is priced at MMK 249,900 in Myanmar which is roughly Php8,900 when directly converted, while the 4GB+64GB variant is at MMK 299,900 or about Php10,800.

Now with Realme UI and USB Type-C

On the front is the same 6.5-inch HD+ display with minidrop notch with the screen protected by an unnamed Gorilla Glass panel. On the back, there is no Sunrise design like the one on Realme 5i and Realme C3. Instead, the company went a different path in terms of looks, I don't know yet what it's called but it reminds me of luggage cases' design. And then on the inside, it now runs on the brand new Realme UI based on Android 10 OS. And yes, finally, it now boasts a USB Type-C port, just like the standard Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro devices. Right out of the box, the phone will come with 10W charger but can support up to 18W quick charge thanks to the USB Type-C port.

Upgraded rear and front cameras

If you are not that happy with the Realme 5i's 12MP quad camera and 8MP selfie camera, perhaps this one will cheer you up more, as the Realme 6i now mounts 48MP primary camera on the back. Together with this are the 8MP ultrawide, 2MP portrait, and 2MP macro lenses. For selfie needs, as mentioned, it has been upgraded as well from 8MP to 16MP. AI beautification and Scene Recognition are also part of the party.

5000mAh battery and reverse wired charging

Like many other Realme smartphones, the 6i is also equipped with massive and long lasting 5000mAh battery right off the bat. And it's got one of those features that I like on smartphones with huge battery - reverse wired charging. If you own a Realme C3, you can already use this particular feature (learn more here). This simply means, you can now charge other devices you have on the go without the need to bring extra powerbank. This feature is pretty useful if you have an extra phone, a pair of wireless earphones, or smart bands.

The Realme 6i will be released in two different color options - Milky White and Green Tea.
