The Redmi Note 9 Pro just got a global version

Xiaomi has officially launched the international version of the Redmi Note 9 Pro, and it is simply called the Redmi Note 9s. We don't know why there is a difference in the naming but the device's inside and outside specs and designs remain the same.

The Redmi Note 9s features a 6.67-inch IPS "DotDisplay" which simply refers to the punch-hole cutout on the screen. Resolution-wise, it packs 2400 x 180 display quality. The display panel is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 material. There is still a traditional fingerprint scanner on this one but it is now integrated with the power button on the side. At the bottom of the phone are the mic, 3.5mm audiojack, and USB Type-C port. Then on the top, is an IR Blaster.

On the back side, the device sports quad camera set up. The rectangular camera module is situated right in the upper center of the back cover. The module holds the 48MP primary shooter, 8MP ultrawide, 5MP macro, and 2MP depth cameras. For selfie needs, there is 16MP one housed in the punch-hole notch.

Powering the Redmi Note 9s is a quite capable Snapdragon 720G octa-core processor with Adreno 618 GPU on its side. When released and made available, users will be able to select between 4GB RAM with 64GB and 6GB RAM with 128GB storage. Of course, microSD card support is still present here. On the software side, there will be the latest Android 10 with MIUI 11 on top.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9s will be released in three color options namely Aurora Blue, Interstellar Grey, and Glacier White. The battery on this device is also pretty generous coming in at 5020mAh with 8W fast charge support.

Also, the smartphone boasts a P2i splash-proof nano-coating technology ensuring the device is protected against spills and accidental splashes.
