Huawei Philippines launches the new MatePad tablet and Sound X speaker

Huawei Philippines just launched two new products in the country - the MatePad tablet and Sound X speaker.  

The Huawei MatePad sports a 10.4-inch 2K FullView IPS display. That equates to 2000 x 1200 display resolution. Huawei says due to its thin bezels which measure only 7.9mm, they were able to achieve 84% screen to body ratio with this tablet. The display further features 224 pixels-per-inch and 70.8% of the NTSC color gamut to much the best possible viewing experience, and yes it does feature Eye Comfort perfect for longer period of use, thanks to TUV Rheinland Low Blue Light certification. 

Powering the device is a Kirin 810 octa-core processor with up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. It can handle microSD card up to 512GB. It is also equipped with 8MP cameras on the back and front. Software wise, there is EMUI 10.1 based on Android 10. It does not have Google Play but apps can be downloaded via the AppGallery. The processor is accompanied by an AI which improves the phone's CPU management which enables it to intelligently respond based on how light or heavy the usage is to provide the most optimized performance. 

The Huawei MatePad will only be released in one color option and that is Midnight Grey. It features USB Type-C and 3.5mm audiojack ports. It does support cellular connectivity up to 4G LTE. And in case you wonder, it weights 450 grams, almost half a kilo.

As for its battery, the MatePad packs 7250mAh battery that according to Huawei can last up to 750 hours on standby mode or about 12 hours of online video playback.

The Huawei Sound X is not your typical pocket-sized Bluetooth and wireless speaker like I initially thought. It's a huge one coming in at 203mm in height and 165mm in width. This particular wireless speaker is created in partnership with Devialet which is a global audio brand that enjoys unique reputation for its premium High-Fidelity products.
