PayMaya users can now invest in the upcoming government's Retail Treasury Bonds via Bonds.PH

Small time investors in the Philippines are now enabled to invest in the government's upcoming Retail Treasury Bonds offering using their PayMaya account via Bonds.PH mobile app. Thanks to the most recent partnership announcement by PayMaya with is a newly created online investment platform that is powered by the Philippine Asset Exchange (PDAX) which goal is to give ordinary Filipinos more accessible and convenient way to buy bonds or invest in the government's Retail Treasury Bond (RTB). Paying for the investment can be done using PayMaya account among other options. 

To spread investment opportunities among the population, the Bureau of the Treasury has allowed the Bonds.Ph app to offer its newly-issued five-year bonds due 2025 to individual investors. Prospective investors can invest in amounts as low as Php5,000 up to Php500,000. 

The government sector aims to raise Php30 billion from its five-year RTBs which is to be offered starting on July 16 until August 7 to be settled on August 12, 2020. 
"We have always envisioned to provide Filipinos with affordable and secure investment instruments where they can invest and at the same time aid the government in raising funds especially at this time. So we opened up our next Retail Treasury Bond offering to an online platform like Bonds.Ph that allows investors to use e-wallets like PayMaya to invest in RTBs," shared Rosalia de Leon, National Treasurer. 
So to start investing, all we have to do is download first the Bonds.Ph app from the App Store or Google Play, register and verify our accounts. From there, we can now easily cash in using our PayMaya-registered mobile number. 

How to add funds to account using PayMaya

  • Go to the Cash In section and select PayMaya. (Minimal of Php5.00 fee per transaction will apply).
  • Choose the amount you wish to cash in and then complete the payment process after you receive the payment details in your email.
  • Once your account is funded, choose the bond offering you want to invest in, review the transaction details, and click "Buy".
  • The subscription will have an "Awaiting Subscription" status until final allocation is completed. All orders are considered final upon placement and can no longer be cancelled.
You can always check the status of your order in the "My Orders" section of the mobile app. You will also receive email notification for your successful purchase or order. 

At the maturity date of your investment, you can also cash out the funds from your account to your PayMaya account. The same minimal Php5.00 transaction fee will also apply.
