Xiaomi Redmi A1 Will be Released Beginning Oct 29

Xiaomi fans are for sure happy to know that the brand has just officially announced a new budget-friendly Redmi phone in the Philippines. As previously teased by Xiaomi, the Xiaomi Redmi A1 is now finally official in the Philippines with a price tag that's less than Php5K mark. 

The Xiaomi Redmi A1 is one of those new entry-level smartphones that is powered by the latest Android 12 Go Edition OS with MIUI 12 skin on top. Being an entry level and and Android Go device, we can't of course expect the phone to sport killer specs, but it has those features and specs that are definitely better than many if not most entry-level phones around in the same price category. 

Underneath the Redmi A1 is a MediaTek Helio A22 processor. It got a 2GB RAM and a 32GB expandable storage right off the bat. Just like other Android smartphones, this one can handle microSD card for additional storage space. In the camera department are 8MP rear camera and a front-facing snapper with 5MP. 

On the front is a 6.52-inch HD+ LCD display with a waterdrop notch holding the selfie camera. While the back design is kind of youthful and vibrant to look at, the front bezels are noticeably thick, at least at how these images are portraying them. 

The Xiaomi Redmi A1 does not come with USB Type-C port, just the now-almost-obsolete microUSB. It packs a huge 5000mAh battery pack that will surely lasts more than a day on a single charge. Plus it does sport dual SIM functionally with 4G LTE connectivity support. The usual WiFi Bluetooth and GPS are also present. 3.5mm audio jack is still part of the package in case you wonder.
