Realme X with Pop-up Selfie Camera and Full-Screen Display Now Launched And It's Super Affordable

Yes, finally, the realme X has been formally launched in China today. It is the company's first smartphone to sport a pop-up selfie camera and full-screen display. It is also now the most powerful realme device to date and yet at the same time one of the cheapest in its league. It's official pricing is just the sweetest, at least for the Chinese market.

There are a lot of new things on the realme X comparing to its predecessors. One of those of course is the pop-up selfie camera which gave way for the screen to completely get rid of the notch on the display. Here we are looking at a 6.53" notchless display and not only that this full-screen panel offers Full HD+ resolution, it's also now an AMOLED display which provides much better display quality and viewing experience. Also on this side of the phone is the first in-display fingerprint sensor on a realme phone. The display is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

Another first is the octa-core Snapdragon 710 processor partnered with Adreno 616 GPU. And it will be available in three different RAM and storage configurations which you can see more about below along with their respective SRPs for the Chinese market.

While being a Chinese company, a sub-brand of OPPO, the realme X is actually the company's first official smartphone to reach and launch in China.

On the back of the realme X are dual camera setup with 48MP being the primary shooter and equipped with Sony IMX586 lens, 1.6 micron pixels, f1.7 aperture, and 6P lens. The secondary rear shooter is pegged at 5MP for depth sensing. Similar to the realme 3 series, there's also the Nightscape and Chroma Boost modes to enjoy together with the AI Scene Detection. The Slo-mo video feature on this phone has also been enhanced which can now record up to 960 frames per second (fps). The pop-up selfie camera has 16MP and f2.0 aperture and can launch in just 0.74 second. Durability wise, the company said they have tested it more than 200,000 times.

For its power supply, there is a 3765mAh battery pack to keep the lights on and support to VOOC 3.0 fast charge. According to realme, it should only take about 80 minutes to fully charge the phone from 0%.
