ASUS ZenFone 5Q Receives Android 9 Pie Update

When the ASUS ZenFone 5Q (also known as ZenFone 5 Lite) was first unveiled and launched in February of 2018 during the year's Mobile World Congress, it was revealed to be powered by Android 7.1 Nougat right out of the box. It was later updated to the Android 8 Oreo system, and then today, users are delighted to know that the Android 9 Pie update for this same smartphone has started rolling out.

ASUS Philippines on their Facebook page confirmed earlier today that this Android Pie update will also make its way to the Filipino users of the phone, thanks to the image above that was posted on their FB page.

Users have to note though that since the over the air update is rolling out by serial number batch, it may take a few days for others to receive the update. They can also check in their phone's settings to see if the update is now available for download by simply going to Settings >> System.

Also, in case you missed it, this ZenFone 5Q is still available for purchase and it is now even more affordable. From its original price of Php15,995, it can now be had for as low as Php9,995. Then this coming Sunday, July 7 through Shopee 7.7 Sale, it will be priced even more affordable for only Php9,496 (see it here).

The ASUS ZenFone 5Q is one of the best ASUS-made midrange smartphones that I have ever tried and featured on this blog. When they had their Pixelmaster Mobile Photography Workshop here in Davao during last year's Kadayawan Festival, this is the phone I was using. You can read more about it in this separate post.
