Blackberry PRIV with Android 5.1 Lollipop Arrives in the Philippines
The first Android-running smartphone from Blackberry called PRIV has finally launched in the Philippines earlier today. It was in the international rumor mill for quite some time before the Canadian company formally announced it last month and now, just a little over a month, the Blackberry Priv has arrived just in time for the Christmas season.

First of all, the PRIV still sports the same looks and feel that we are very familiar with a Blackberry handset. The black color it comes in and its most iconic physical QWERTY slider keyboard. When asked which brand or phone has the best physical keyboard ever, Blackberry is always the first entity that comes to my mind, and I am glad that Blackberry is still not giving up on this feature of them despite keyboardless and touch-screen enabled phones are the hottest today. Additionally, the keyboard is neatly and beautifully placed just under the Priv's display panel. Just slide it out if you feel like using it or keep it slid in and continue using the screen which is also touch enabled.
Talking about the screen, the Blackberry Priv has 5.4-inch Quad HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 layering for scratch and shatter protection.
Inside the Blackberry Priv are very powerful and up-to-date specs and features a typical Android flagship device could offer. Powering the entire system is a six-core processor from Qualcomm which is a Snapdragon 808 with big 3GB of RAM. Internal storage wise there is only one option which is a 32GB one, however this device supports microSD card and any users who want to add more storage space can have up to two-tera-freaking-bytes (2TB). The new Lumia 950 and 950 XL can also hold this much of a microSD card size, I now start to wonder when can we see the first microSD card that sports 2TB space. That's going to be mind blowing for me.
Moving forward, this Blackberry smartphone has 18MP Schneider-Kreuznach-certified rear camera with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus) and 6-element f/2.2 lens for better photo quality. I can't wait to see how Priv's camera is doing compare to other camera-centric smartphones. For the front-facing camera, users will have a 2MP shooter with large 1.7um pixel and f/2.8 lens.
