Together with the flagship Elife E8 device, Gionee announced another smartphone that boasts a massive 6,020mAh battery juice at a special event the company held in Beijing China earlier yesterday. The Elife E8 focuses on camera as its main selling points where the rear shooter sports a massive 24MP lens with optical image stabilization technology and with the help of some built-in camera tweaks it can produce a huge photo up to 120MP in resolution. However the Gionee Marathon M5 sells its largest battery prowess.
Gionee Marathon M5 features dual-cell battery packs where each of them has 3,010mAh calibration. It's not that clear yet how charging works but based on Gionee's keynote they have created a special charging technology where these two batteries can be charged at the same time. In other words, the other battery cell does now work like a powerbank where users have to charge them separately. That's cool isn't it?
With that huge battery juice, Gionee says that it can last as long as four days of "heavy" usage on a single charge. Not only that the tech company also mentioned that even at 5% power left, it can still be on standby mode for up to another 62 hours.
Apart from the battery size, the rest of the phone's specs are also very attractive and competitive. Here users get a 5.5-inch HD display with AMOLED panel, a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage that can support microSD card up to 64GB. It has the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop OS so nothing to worry about its operating system, hopefully an update to the next Android version will be possible. See other specs below.
