Samsung Announces 5-inch Galaxy Grand Smartphone

So I thought Galaxy Note 2 was the last gadget announcement from the Korean company Samsung Electronics for this year. Well I was wrong as they just recently unveiled another smartphone under their Galaxy line, the Samsung Galaxy Grand.

This newest member of the Galaxy family follows the design of the two smartphones I love the most from Samsung, you can notice that the looks is very similar to the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2. Grand's
screen display falls between these two flagship phones' at 5-inches. S III has 4.8" while Note II sports 5.5", and one the best offerings of this new device is that it comes with Google's latest Android operating system Jelly Bean right out of the box.

With that phablet-like screen size of 5 inches it's quite heartbreaking to know that it's not an HD one and only offers 480x800 pixel resolution, not that close to G-Note 2 and S3's 1280x800. Other specs are average with 1.2GHz dual-core processor under Grand's hood, for RAM 1GB of space is provided. The cameras are at 8MP on the back and 2MP for the front one.

Like some other Samsung phones that have been in the market both feature phones and smartphones, the Galaxy Grand will be manufactured in two variants. One with capability of running two simcards (dual-sim ) and another for a single-sim option. Battery is 2100mAh.

Pricing and availability were not mentioned during the announcement so we have to hang on for that.
