Samsung Announces Galaxy Grand 2

Samsung just announced the new Galaxy Grand 2 smartphone running Android 4.3 Jellybean, a follow up to the first Grand that was announced about a year ago. At first look, it reminds me of Samsung Galaxy Note 3 because of two major factors, the first is its screen sizes which measures 5.25-inch that is very close to the Note's 5.68" and the second one is its back panel that sports stitching pattern around the faux leather back. It looks like a, S-pen-less Galaxy Note 3 plus with some trimmed down specs from the flagship phablet but a definitely upgrade from the Grand 1.

As mentioned above the screen of the Grand 2 is pegged at 5.25-inch HD TFT display with 1280x720p, that resolution is a clear upgrade from the first Grand. This smartphone has a 1.2GHz quad-core processor partnered with a 1.5GB RAM for better experience when it comes to multitasking purposes. For internal storage, users will get an upfront 8GB of space which they can add up to additional 64GB via microSD card support. The back camera will provide you an 8-Megapixel lens.  The Galaxy Grand 2 does not support LTE connectivity though but is able to take 2 SIM card as it is a dual-SIM Android smartphone. Battery is at 2,600mAh. You can get the Grand 2 in White, Pink and Black color selections.

The 8Mp camera on the Grand 2, as per Cnet, has been improved by the Korean company which has now features like Best Face, Best Photo and Continuous Shot plus Samsung's exclusive apps such as Story Album, S Translator, S Travel, Samsung Hub and Samsung Link. I almost forgot that the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2's front facing camera has 1.9MP resolution.  Based on the specs that we have seen, it's not a flagship level Samsung smartphone but more of a mid-range one aiming for users who wants to have Android phones will bigger screen but not bigger in price tag. However, the price has not revealed yet.
