Nokia Lumia 530 is Now Official

Microsoft has announced the Nokia Lumia 530 on Wednesday making this smartphone the very first device to be released by Microsoft after the acquisition of Nokia earlier this year. It's a budget-friendly Windows Phone device, just like the Lumia 520 and Lumia 525 its previous iterations under the same category.

Comparing the Lumia 530 with the other two, the screen resolution is bit upgraded from 800x480 to 854x480. However the RAM was downsized from 1GB (Lumia 525) to 512MB and the internal storage from 8GB to just 4GB. But the good thing  about its storage is that it can support microSD card up to 128GB plus Microsoft is giving free 15GB worth of storage through OneDrive. Still no front camera, so for selfie purposes users have to use the 5MP rear camera.

The Nokia Lumia 530 is powered by Windows Phone 8.1 OS and a quad-core Snapdragon 200 SoC clocked at 1.2GHz. This will come in single and dual-sim variants and will be available in the US starting this August for 85 Euros or around $115 before tax.
