Asus Zenfone Max Now in PH with 5000mAh Battery

In addition to the new Zenfone Zoom, Asus Philippines, though their event held at Marriott Hotel in Cebu a couple of days ago, officially launched the Zenfone Max smartphone carrying a monstrous 5000mAh battery right off the bat that promises you to last at least more than a day even in heavy usage.

Unlike Zenfone Zoom, the Zenfone Max won't blow your mind and wallet when it comes to its internal specs and price tag when it finally reaches local shelves soon. However, this does not mean poor performance and experience as its specs and features are closer to the likes of Zenfone Laser and Zenfone Go than to original Zenfone 2 and the new Zenfone Zoom. That being said, users will definitely be able to maximize the use of its massive battery without compromising experience, and that's what's mind blowing here. And it does not end there, keep on reading to learn more about this smartphone.

So how close to those Zenfones? On the front side, the Asus Zenfone Max offers a 5.5" HD IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection, a Snapdragon 410 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB expandable internal storage, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, LTE support and many others. On paper it claims to support up to 64GB of microSD card but according to an unboxing video from PinoyScreenCast, a 128GB card is also going to work with this.

Let's talk a little more about this device's main event, the big 5000mAh battery. Up until today, we still don't see that many phones with this feature, thanks to Asus for releasing this kind of phone. The 5000mAh battery, according to Asus, will last the Max up to 38 days on standby mode, 37.5 hours of talktime on 3G, 22.6 hours of video playback and up to 32.5 hours of web browsin g on a single charge.

Apart from being a battery to its home device, this can also work as a powerbank to your other devices through its USB OTG support. That's something we really don't usually see from the main and well known players in the smartphone industry, only Asus has it.

The 13MP rear camera on the back is PixelMaster-powered, meaning it is capable of capturing bright and clear photos even in dark scenarios. In fact it's up to 400% brighter than other phones around, even the front facing camera is also with PixelMaster. If you are familiar with previous Zenfones, you will be happy to know that the Zenfone Max also sports a ton of camera features like Beautification, Depth of Field, Panorama, Gif, Timelapse and even a Manual mode. I will cover all of those in my upcoming posts about this Zenfone Max.
